An experienced petroleum industry professional, Edesiri Onatejiroghene Ibru serves as a corporate finance analyst with Midwestern Oil and Gas Company Limited. Before entering the workforce, Edesiri Onatejiroghene Ibru completed studies at Imperial College London, where she earned a master’s degree in petroleum engineering.
Imperial College recently hosted renowned physicist Stephen Hawking, who gave a lecture about his work with black holes. In his talk, Professor Hawking countered notions that black holes are the ultimate destroyers of matter. He also spoke about how black hole theory has developed over the years and about Hawking radiation emissions associated with the phenomenon.
Five current faculty members at Imperial College are former pupils of Hawking. They joined him before the lecture in a special celebration. During the event, Hawking expressed pride in the work that the theoretical physics department at Imperial College has been able to accomplish, citing the school as one of the preeminent institutions in the world for such studies.
A skilled executive with a history of holding leadership positions, Edesiri “Tejiro” Onatejiroghene Ibru leads Nigeria-based Destiny Dredgers International as the executive director and head of corporate services. Edesiri Onatejiroghene Ibru graduated from Imperial College London with a master of science (MSc) degree in petroleum engineering.
Imperial College London’s MSc of Petroleum Engineering program trains students to understand and utilize prevalent workflow concepts in the oil industry, while preparing them to work in multidisciplinary teams. The full-time course guides students in applying their knowledge from other engineering and science-based foundations into the specialties of petroleum engineering. Although individual modules may vary between academic years, the course curriculum for the 2017-2018 academic year is organized around five teaching modules featuring petroleum engineering laboratories, a field trip, and industry seminars. Students will also participate in group and individual projects.
Students must possess a first class honors degree in a science or engineering subject in order to apply for the program, and international students must meet country-specific qualifications. Furthermore, candidates must demonstrate a minimum level of proficiency in the English language.
